Built by a fly angler who got tired of guessing.
My first time fly fishing was very misleading. My dad and I fished the Rolling Rock club in Ligonier, PA: a perfectly manicured stream, broken up by jake dams and filled with trout. It was like catching fish in a barrel, and it got me hooked.
Fishing on my own after school was a different story. I learned that success depends on reading the stream and choosing the right fly for the conditions, the time of year and the location. Soon I was spending more time studying insects than fishing, and still not catching much.
In my junior year of college as a computer science major, I realized I could use technology to fix that, and started building Laughin' Fly around exactly what I needed on the water. Today it's the fly fishing app built by fly fishermen, for fly fishermen.
